345 - Disturbing the Peace
The conflict between "town and gown" is explored here. Many university students live in Burlington, Vermont and there are neighborhoods with a decent mixture of students and regular residents. Noise complaints have become an important political issue as the city and the university try and see what they can do to restore some quiet. Other sources of noise are also discussed, along with policies to deal with these other sources. The panel includes Sam Ricker, John Hines, Nick Landsman-Roos and Alfred Snider. Recorded in the Spring of 2007.
